Temporary directory How to set the temporary directory to a disk other than C:\
Keywords:
  • Problems while saving Argus ONE files
  • Changing the temporary directory
  • Temporary files created during saving an Argus ONE project file
When Argus ONE saves a project file to disk, it creates a temporary file which at the end of the save process is copied to the destination you have specified as the target directory, and deleted then deleted. The temporary file is created in your system's default temporary directory, which is usually set up on disk C.

If you do not have enough disk space to host the temporary file, or if you do not have write permission to that disk or directory, the save operation will fail. To avoid this you should do one of the following:

  • Clear some space the disk which hosts your default Temp directory
  • Set the disk or directory's permission to allow writing
  • Change the disk on which the default Temp directory resides.

To change the disk on which the default Temp directory resides (Win NT and 2000):

  1. Go to:
    1. Control Panels
    2. System
    3. Advanced
    4. Environment Variables
  2. Locate the variable named Temp
  3. Change its value to the disk you want
for instance, from C:\Temp to D:\Temp
